I provide individual, family and couples therapy. In treatment, I use several different approaches, ultimately my primary focus is finding a way to connect with people I work with. I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy in treatment, as well as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to be effective in the therapeutic setting. A brief synopsis of each model is listed below:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Understanding how your thoughts, feelings and beliefs contribute to your behaviors.
Solution Focus Brief Therapy (SFBT) – Taking the time to focus on how you would like your life to be and what steps will be needed to get there instead of focusing on the problem.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) – You are asked to take responsibility for your own actions and emotions. Identifying irrational thoughts and beliefs allow you to better understand your cognitive and emotional dysfunction.
Challenges I have experience working with are as follows:
- Anger Management
- Anxiety and Stress
- Mood Disorders/Bi-Polar
- Personality Disorders
- Intimate Partner Violence
